As senior corporate counsel at Flourish, Neil leverages a breadth and depth of venture capital legal experience to support Flourish’s investments, ecosystem-building efforts, and portfolio companies. Previously, Neil was senior corporate counsel at the Omidyar Network. Before that, Neil served as corporate counsel to 500 Global, where he worked on global ecosystem development and oversaw all of the firm’s global venture investments. He was previously a venture capital and startup attorney at Fenwick & West LLP, where he advised technology companies and venture funds on financing deals, general corporate matters, and mergers & acquisitions.

Neil began his career at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he advised private equity and hedge funds, as well as public companies on mergers & acquisitions and general corporate matters. He also provided legal support to the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund on a pro-bono basis. Neil is a lecturer on venture capital and startup law at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. He earned a juris doctor from the New York University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Georgetown University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
